PARTICIPATE

Send me a postmarked letter in the mail and share your story

Your letter will be used to create content for the project. Please respond to the following prompts:

Part 1 - introductions

Who are you? Where are you from?
What are your daily interactions with structures?
(Where you live, sleep, learn, work, worship, etc.)

Part 2 - your structure & story

Think of a significant structure from any chapter of your life:

(A home, hospital, classroom, workplace, crawlspace, fort, tent, place of worship, prison cell, makeshift shelter, casket, etc.)

Describe:
1. The physical/ tangible parts of the structure: the parts you can touch. Please be as specific and detailed as possible in your descriptions.
2. The invisible/ intangible connections to the structure: any memories, emotions, thoughts, stories, etc. Again, please be as specific and personal as you can.
Be bold and tell your story wholeheartedly.

What is your relationship with the structure today?
Please include a photo(s) or image(s) of the structure you described with your letter, as well as anything else to help better tell your story.

Part 3 - your opinions

As best you can, describe the experience of being a human (a.k.a. the human condition)?
(Socially, culturally, personally, temporarily, the search for meaning and purpose)

What is your description of a poetic connection?
(A connection that illustrates or expresses an emotion, is imaginative,
simple, subtle, colorful, complex, personal, universal, etc.)

How would you describe structures and the human condition as being poetically connected?

If you were creating questions for this project,
what would you ask / how would you respond?

Thanks for your willingness to share. If you feel more comfortable sending your letter anonymously, you may. You may also send more than one piece of mail. I will receive and process each letter with great care and gratitude. Thank you.
